U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is confirmed to deliver the keynote address next week at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference in Bismarck.

Zinke said in a statement he’s looking forward to speaking about how the Trump Administration is working to “unleash North Dakota’s full energy potential.”

“The Williston Basin is an important piece in achieving President Donald Trump's goal of American energy dominance,” Zinke said in a statement.

Zinke will speak at 9:10 a.m. May 23 at the Bismarck Event Center. The North Dakota Petroleum Council had announced that Zinke was an invited guest, but his appearance wasn’t confirmed until this week.

Petroleum Council President Ron Ness said the industry group is excited to host Zinke, a former Congressman from Montana.

“In his service as a Congressman and in his current role, Zinke has been a champion for the hard-working men and women in the energy and agriculture industries,” Ness said.

More than 2,000 people from 34 states and four Canadian provinces have registered for the conference that starts May 22.

Zinke is one of more than 70 presenters, including eight Bakken executives. Registration continues through May 24. For more information, visit WBPCND.org.
