A pipeline in Williams County has leaked oil into grassland near a well pad, the state Department of Environmental Quality reported Friday.

The 240-barrel spill occurred Thursday on the north side of Williston. That amount is equal to 10,080 gallons.

The pipeline is owned by Samson Oil & Gas USA. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

State officials say the spill has been contained and 100 barrels have been recovered.
