A pump failure caused about 265 barrels, or 11,130 gallons, of brine to spill at an oil and gas well in Williams County on Saturday, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.

Oasis Petroleum reported the spill about 6 miles northwest of Williston. The spill was contained to the well site and most of the brine has been recovered.

A state inspector has been to the location.
