In the 1920 March blizzard, hazel saved her brother Emmet and sister Myrdith. While coming home from school, they got lost in the blizzard. Hazel made a shelter for them, but the wind blew the covers off, so she laid on top of them to help keep them warm. She gave her life to save them. We now pay homage to her for her courageous act.
There will be a lyceum at the Center High School gym at 10:00 a.m. March 16. Open to the public.
