10 YEARS AGO (2007): Bismarck State College golfer Jordan Bondley qualified for the junior college nationals after finishing in a sixth-place tie at the Region 13 tournament in Brainerd, Minn. Bondley carded a two-day score of 161, shooting a 78 the first day and an 83 the second. BSC's Jared Herman, who shot a 162, is an alternate for the national tournament.

20 YEARS AGO (1997): Century running back Joe Brandner rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown, and fullback Clint Werre bulled his way to 71 yards and two touchdowns as the Patriots defeated St. Mary's 27-0 in West Region football. Century improved to 3-1 in the region. St. Mary's leveled off at 2-2.

50 YEARS AGO (1967): Vern Morton of Pettibone set a conference record in the Straight Line Conference cross country meet at Tuttle, posting a 10:15 on the 1.8-mile course. Burl Sorenson of Tuttle was second in 10:17. Tuttle captured the team title for the third straight year with a score of nine. Pettibone was second with a total of 26.
