Lauren Leidnix, pictured, and doubles partner Lauren Botsford of St. Mary's defeated Sydney Helgeson and Natalie Schuch of Bismarck High in the No. 1 doubles match on Friday. St. Mary's defeated the Demons 8-0.

The high school tennis season got started on Friday with quadrangulars in Bismarck and Minot.

Mandan won both its matches in the non-region 3-2 format held at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center.

Elizabeth Felderman went 2-0 as the Braves edged Bismarck High and Legacy, 3-2.

Legacy and Bismarck each went 1-1.

Brianna Metzger and Sierra Knoll each went 2-0 in singles for the Sabers, who blanked St. Mary's 5-0.

Lauren Andre and Taylor Richter each won singles matches in the Demons' 4-1 win over St. Mary's, which went 0-2 on the day. The Saints got a doubles victory from the duo Lauren Botsford and Lauren Leidenix.

In Minot, Century won two of its three matches, which featured only doubles matches.

Century defeated Jamestown (4-1) and Williston (3-2) and fell to West Region favorite Minot (4-1). 

Riley Lembke and Emily Savageau each went 3-0 on the day and teamed for the Patriots' lone win in the Minot match.
