Off to a perfect 9-0 start, Rudy Guillen of the University of Mary wrestling team has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's Wrestler of the Week.

The last U-Mary wrestler to earn the award was Tate Barnardt on Jan. 30, 2017. Prior to that it was Trevor Johnson in 2013.

Guillen, a junior from Duluth, Ga., earned his second straight tournament championship last weekend at the Dakota Wesleyan Open in Mitchell, S.D. In doing so, Guillen knocked off the No. 1-ranked 149-pounder in NCAA Division II, James Pleski of St. Cloud State, 3-1 in overtime.

Last week Guillen posted a 5-0 record, including a win in the Marauders' 21-15 dual victory over Minot State.

Up next for the Marauders is the Cobber Open in Moorhead on Saturday.
