CLASS AAA, AA POLLS

St. Mary's remains atop the latest Class AA football poll heading into another marquee matchup.

The Saints (5-0) won 17-10 at No. 3 Jamestown (3-2) last Friday night. Coming up this Friday at 7 p.m., St. Mary's hosts No. 2 Fargo Shanley. The Deacons also are 5-0. The Saints got 14 of 15 first-place votes. Shanley got the other.

Devils Lake (4-1) and Wahpeton (3-2) round out the top five. Grafton and Watford City, both 2-3 received votes.

In the Class AAA poll, unbeaten West Fargo (5-0) got all 16 top-place nods.

Bismarck Century (4-1) remains at No. 2, while Bismarck jumped up to No. 3 after its 41-14 win over then No. 3 Fargo South (4-1). The Bruins are now ranked fifth.

No. 4 Minot (3-2) plays at Century on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Legacy (3-2) and Mandan (2-3) both got votes in the poll. The Braves host the Sabers on Friday at 6:30 in the first game at the new Starion Sports Complex.

The polls are conducted by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
