MINOT 6, BISMARCK 2

A four-goal second period helped the Minot Minotauros post a 6-2 NAHL victory over the Bismarck Bobcats on Friday night.

The hosts took a 2-0 first-period edge on goals by Miroslav Mucha and Ryan Green before Michael Mahan pulled the Bobcats within 2-1 at 14:18 of the first.

Minot added to the lead with two goals 61 seconds apart early in the second as Andrew Kangas and Mucha scored to make it 4-1. Bismarck’s Patrick O’Connor scored 13 seconds later to make it 4-2, but Green and Austin Dollimer added goals later in the second to take a 6-2 lead to the final period.

Samu Lonkila had 17 saves for Minot.

The teams play tonight at the VFW Sports Center at 7:15 p.m.
