10 YEARS AGO (2008): Rookie Perrin Johnson came off the bench to score 14 points and play terrific defense to help the Dakota Wizards breeze past visiting Iowa 105-94. Rookie guard Blake Ahern scored a team-high 23 points for the Wizards. Demetris Nichols scored 25 points for Iowa.
20 YEARS AGO (1998): Josh Schiwal poured in 32 points, 19 in the second half, to lead Wishek to an 80-60 win over Wing-Tuttle-Pettibone in the championship of the Linton Invitational basketball tournament. Strasburg beat Linton 64-63 for third place. Carrington downced Ashley-Zeeland 71-54 in the fifth-place game and LaMoure edged Beach 52-50 for seventh.
50 YEARS AGO (1968): Bob Hintz and Jim Schneider rolled a net 1,281 to pace the holiday doubles tournament at the Bismarck Bowling Center. The tournament continues through Jan. 19.
