LARKS ADD TWO D-I PLAYERS
Kevin Brophy and Tristen Hudson from West Virginia University have signed with the Bismarck Larks.
Brophy, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound corner infielder from Randolph, N.J., is hitting .286 with one home run in early going for the Mountaineers. He hit .300 in 40 at bats his freshman season.
"(Brophy) is a guy who has a ton of power at the plate, but isn't a guy who lives or dies by the long ball," Larks coach Sean Repay said. "He's going to hit for average and power at a high level."
Hudson is a freshman pitcher/middle infielder for the Mountaineers. The 6-3, 178-pounder has already worked in relief three times for West Virginia. At the plate, Hudson is a switch-hitter.
"Hudson is a very versatile player that brings a lot to the table for us," Repay said. "I expect him to help us out of the bullpen a ton and be a guy we can rely upon heavily in the mix of talent we have up the middle in the infield."
