SENIOR BABERUTHBASEBALL
REPSLOSEOPENERATREGIONAL
CHARLESTON, Mo. - The Bismarck Reps lost their first-round game in the Senior Babe Ruth Midwest Plains Regional on Friday.
Burnsville, the Minnesota state champions, beat Bismarck, the North Dakota state champions 8-4.
"We just didn't pitch very well on the hill," said Reps coach Mike Gustavsson. "We put too many guys on, and they had some clutch hits."
After getting down 4-0, Jon Feist doubled to plate Brett Ellwein.
Then Burnsville scored three more runs before the Reps put up a three-spot in the sixth inning.
Feist was hit by a pitch before James Carroll doubled. Sam Ingemansen followed with a triple and Steve Slaubaugh drove him in with a sacrifice fly.
"We just couldn't come back," Gustavsson said.
Bismarck plays again at 1 p.m. today.
