Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Weston Dressler was runner-up for the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week.
The Bismarck native had game highs of seven receptions for 154 yards as Saskatchewan opened the 2009 campaign with a 28-24 win over British Columbia.
Dressler had a long reception of 43 yards and the University of North Dakota product even ran the ball twice for only one yard.
Dressler returned one kick for 14 yards.

WINKELMANSIGNSWITHAN ITALIANPROFESSIONALTEAM
Former North Dakota State basketball standout Brett Winkelman has signed a professional contract with a team in Italy.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward declined to disclose financial terms of his one-year deal with Pavia of the Italian LegaDue, or second division.
Winkelman, from Morris, Minn., says he also got offers from teams in Belgium, Poland and Turkey. He says the Italy offer was the best fit for him.
Ben Woodside, another member of the Bison team that went to the NCAA tournament last season, plans to play in the NBA Summer League in hopes of hooking on with a team.
Former Bison guard Mike Nelson says he likely will sign in the next few weeks with a team in Spain or France.

Hanna Hellekson of Bismarck has signed to play for United Tribes for the upcoming season.
Hellekson graduated from Shiloh in 2008 and helped guide the Skyhawks to the Class B state tournament. She averaged about nine points a game.
Lalynn Antel of Standing Rock and Sophia Janis of Pine Ridge High School in South Dakota also made verbal commitments. Antel will be a guard-forward and Janis a guard.

HERAUF LEAVES U-MARY
Ben Herauf will not return to the University of Mary baseball team this coming school year. Herauf, who will be a sophomore, is transferring to North Dakota State and plans to suit up for the Bison.
The Dickinson native played first base and batted in the cleanup spot this past season as a true freshman. He finished the season with a .259 batting average. He collected 17 runs batted in and cracked one home run.
"We wish him the best,"U-Mary coach Brad Walsh said. "We'd like to have him back, but that's the way college athletics are."

The 17-year-old up-and-comer was second early in the 200 individiual medley before fading to fourth.

NDSCS-WAHPETONHOOPS COACHNAMEDATHLETICDIRECTOR
WAHPETON (AP) - NDSCS-Wahpeton men's basketball coach Scott Schumacher is taking on the job of Wildcats' athletic director as well.
The announcement was made by NDSCS-Wahpeton President John Richman., who said it was part of a restructuring of the two-year college's athletic department.
Richman said former athletic director Jane Passa will continue as head volleyball coach and chairwoman of the school's Health and Physical Education and Recreation Department.
Schumacher, who has coached for 22 years, took the head men's basketball coaching job at NDSCS-Wahpeton last year after 13 years as a head coach at Kilgore (Texas) College.
He led the Wildcats men's team to the Mon-Dak conference title with a 13-1 record last season, as well as to National Junior College Athletic Association regional and district titles.
Schumacher also is the president of the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association.
