50 years ago (1959): Nicola's increased its lead to one full game over the City Softball League while a fast-moving Werner's team closed the gap to two games.

League-leading hitter Dave Hummel paced Nicola's with a 3-for-3, including two doubles and a home run. Bill Leifur also homered for Nicola's and John Clement for KFYR.
