WOMEN'S SOCCER
MELLO, WilsonHONORED
University of Mary's Danielle Mello (defensive) and Megan Wilson (co-offensive) were named players of the week by the NSIC.
Mello, a junior who converted to defense from forward early this season, showed she still knows how to contribute offensively, scoring one goal and assisting on two others this weekend. She helped the Marauders shut out two conference opponents as U-Mary allowed just eight shots on goal.
Wilson scored four goals on the weekend, including a natural hat trick and her fourth game-wining goal of the season. She freed herself for 15 shots in two wins.
Concordia-St. Paul's Hillary Johnson was named co-offensive player of the week after she scored a school-record four goals against Minnesota-Crookston. Her eight points in the game also tied a school record. She had a goal against Bemidji State.
