The D-League announced Friday that it had terminated the contract of former Dakota Wizard Awvee Storey for "conduct detrimental to the league."

Storey had been suspended indefinitely after a practice fight left teammate Martynas Andriuskevicius with a fractured skull.

Kent Partridge, the D-League's vice president of communications, declined to elaborate on the one-sentence press release issued by the league.

Wizards coach Dave Joerger said he had no problem with the league's decision.

"It seems fair to me,"Joerger said. "It was situation that was very unfortunate for Marty and his family, for the team and for both competitors."

Storey played in three games with the Wizards, averaging 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Storey's agent, Mark Bertelstein, could not be reached for comment.

Andriuskevicius and Storey got into an argument that escalated during Wizards' practice on Dec. 21. After getting hit by Storey, Andriuskevicius was knocked unconscious when his head hit the floor.

Andriuskevicius, who was in intensive care, had been assigned to the Wizards by the Chicago Bulls, and has since returned to Chicago.

He attended a Bulls practice earlier this week and told the Chicago Daily Herald he has suffered some hearing loss and may need speech therapy, but that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

3 WILLIAMS SIGNS:The Sacramento Kings made it official Friday when they signed JustinWilliams to a 10-day contract.

The Wizards retain the D-League rights to Williams, who was leading the league in rebounds (12.8) and blocks (3.3).
