CLASS A, 9-MAN POLLS

Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm and Hillsboro-Central Valley are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in this week's Class A football poll, but that could change next week after the two teams clash on Friday night in a game that will decide the Class A Region 1 championship.

Ellendale-EK, 6-0, received six of the 14 first-place votes in this week's Class A football poll, conducted by the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Hillsboro-CV, also 6-0, garnered four first-place votes, No. 3 Langdon Area-Munich-Edmore one and No. 4 Beulah three. Velva rounds out the top five.

Hillsboro-CV and Ellendale-EK were 1-2 in last week's poll.

Cavalier remained the No. 1 team in the 9-man poll. The Tornadoes collected seven of the 14 first-place votes. No. 4 Thompson received three first-place votes, and No. 2 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood and No. 3 Shiloh Christian garnered two apiece.

New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin occupies the No. 5 spot. New Salem-AGU and Shiloh Christian will square off in the Region 5 championship game Friday night at Shiloh's Miller Field.
