Proposed new governor's mansion 1956

Here is an architect's sketch proposed as a governor's mansion for North Dakota. The picture shows the south side of the proposed $200,000 residence, to be located northeast of the State Capitol.

The plan was sent back to the architect - Leonhard, Askew & Blake of Bismarck - by the State Board of Administration for sweeping revisions.

Objections of the board included the "futuristic" design and the extensive use of glass.
