For nearly all of you who have worked for someone else, you have faced an accountability of your employment effort. I faced an annual performance review for each of my 30 plus years of employment.
It is time for President Donald Trump’s review since he was electorally elected president one year ago. Yes, he does have a supervisor; the voting citizens of our still-great country.
I chose an accountability question posed by Trump on Aug. 19, 2016. Although he was referencing America’s African American voters, I think it is relevant for this performance review. The question that needs to be considered is: “What the hell do you have to lose?”
This is the results of my personal evaluation, as a voter and taxpayer, of Trump’s first year being electorally elected president.
Trump is a malignant liar. This has been well documented through unprecedented fact checks. Unfortunately, many Americans have become accustomed to his lies. We cannot become numb to this behavior to the point that this behavior is normalized.
Trump operates on a documented need for continued chaos. He is bringing extreme divisiveness to America: white versus non-white; evangelical Christian versus non-evangelicals; male versus female; poor and middle class versus rich; etc.
Trump, his family, and his appointed Cabinet continue to profit from their employment/involvement with the presidency. This goes against the Constitution.
Trump appears, by his actions and his tweets, to support dictators and authoritarian regimes, over democratic governments. He has never said a bad word about Russia’s Putin. He may wish to become a dictator.
Trump should be fired for being an authoritarian leader willing to ignore facts, surrounded by family and cronies who are trying to deconstruct America’s democracy. This is America’s losses.
