Here we go again. For the millionth time, the Republicans are aiming to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Ever since being put into place, the immoral majority party has screamed that it does nothing to control costs. With the so-called new, Graham-Cassidy bill, it still does nothing to control costs!
It used to be that health insurance kept you from financial ruin. Now health insurance financially ruins you, because there is zero regulation in the health industry. They can charge as much as they want, (and usually do). What makes matters worse, our Republican delegation, (Sen. John Hoeven and Rep. Kevin Cramer), are looking at supporting this bill, just to give the tweeter in chief a legislative win, no matter the consequences of the human factor.
If our tweeter in chief ever really had a plan for health care reform, he never presented it, but his constituents swallowed his lies hook, line and sinker. Most of us remember the catch phrase "it's the economy, stupid." Well, the new catch phrase is "it costs too much!" But the Republicans won't acknowledge that ... as long as the favors (and donations), from big pharma, hospitals and the insurance companies, keep coming in.
Until the costs of health care are controlled, the Republican Party will continue to kick the can down the road, depriving the poorest of the poor a chance of being able to have access to affordable health care. That is the immoral side of the Republican Party.
