Three prominent Republican senators have come out very strong against President Donald Trump: Sens. John McCain, Bob Corker and Jeff Flake.

They have listed numerous reasons why. He is dangerously unstable, he is an erratic leader, untruthful, reckless, childish, nasty and self-deluded and thus has responded completely wrong on some of the largest issues of our time. He insists on diverting attention away from the real matters at hand by causing doubt on the judicial system and the truthfulness of journalism.

Flake said, “I will not be complicit or silent” on the Senate floor. “When the next generation asks us, ‘Why didn’t you do something? Why didn’t you speak up?’ What are we going to say?”

My fear is that the American people are complicit. Are we paying attention to the right things when you are listening to the news? We have a major tax bill that is trying to be passed, we have interference by Russia and we have many accusations for misconduct toward women coming out. These are big things we need to be paying attention to and holding people accountable. Trump needs to be held accountable. I do not believe he deserves to be called president.

Americans of every generation, young and old, you need to pay attention! You need to care. Every time these important topics come up for review and discussion if there is any criticism or concern Trump takes to Twitter and says something crazy or idiotic to divert people away from the real issues. Do not be distracted! Do not shake your head at our elected officials and shrug them off. We should all be asking ourselves “Why didn’t I do something?”
