Jamestown teacher Heather Tomlin-Rohr has been selected as one of five finalists for the 2018 North Dakota Teacher of the Year Award.
Tomlin-Rohr is a kindergarten teacher at Louis L’Amour Elementary School in Jamestown, according to a news release from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. As a Jamestown native, she graduated from the University of Jamestown with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2002 and started teaching at Louis L’Amour that fall.
State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler visited Tomlin-Rohr in Jamestown on Monday to tell her she is a finalist.
Tomlin-Rohr was also a finalist for Teacher of the Year last year.
Baesler and Gov. Doug Burgum will honor the person selected as Teacher of the Year on Sept. 28.
