A 30-year-old woman has died after she crashed into the Forest River near Minto.

North Dakota Highway Patrol reported Elizabeth Knecht, of Forest River, was traveling north Monday morning on 150th Avenue Northeast when her 2014 Dodge Durango left the roadway, traveled over the west ditch and riverbank, overturned and crashed through the ice.

Her vehicle came to rest upside down and partially submerged in the Forest River.

Knecht, who not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. 

The crash is under investigation.

Minto Fire & Rescue, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Valley Ambulance Service and Walsh County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.
