MINOT (AP) - Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and General Norton Schwartz, the Air Force chief of staff, are scheduled to visit the Minot Air Force Base today.
The military says the officials will tour the base and meet with airmen.
Schwartz was appointed by President Bush this summer during leadership changes following the mishandling of nuclear weapons and equipment by the Air Force, including at Minot.
