JAMESTOWN (AP) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a truck driver faces charges after his semitrailer crashed into a bridge on Interstate 94, west of Jamestown.
Troopers say 47-year-old Randy Long of Bismarck was arrested Friday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The patrol says Long and his passenger, 47-year-old Debra Oster of Fargo, were injured in the crash. Oster was taken to a Jamestown hospital, and Long was transported to a hospital in Bismarck.
Troopers say the westbound semitrailer failed to negotiate a curve on an exit ramp and overturned after striking a guard rail and concrete bridge barrier.
The state Transportation Department estimates damage to the bridge at about $100,000 but says it is still open and safe for driving.
