WAHPETON (AP) - Two people are in custody after an incident that Wahpeton police describe as a "drive-by style" shooting.
Authorities say a man in a car fired several shots from a handgun toward a mobile home shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday. A woman and eight children were in the home and yard, but authorities say no one was hurt.
Police say they have not determined a possible motive.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle a short time later in neighboring Breckenridge, Minn., and arrested the woman who was driving and the male passenger.
Breckenridge Police Chief Steve Rensvold identified the suspects as 28-year-old Andrew Lopez and his roommate, Crystal Garcia, both of Wahpeton.
Lopez was released from prison five months ago after serving time on an aggravated assault conviction for a 2006 stabbing of two men in Wahpeton.
Authorities say felony charges are pending against Lopez and Garcia in the latest incident. They waived extradition and were returned to North Dakota on Thursday afternoon.
