WEST FARGO (AP) - The West Fargo School Board might seek another vote on a $65 million school proposal.
Voters earlier this month rejected the plan, which called for a new elementary school, a second high school, more outdoor fields and other school renovations.
A majority of voters favored the idea, but not the 60 percent that was required.
State law allows another vote in three months. School Board President Tom Gentzkow says the board is "leaning" toward another vote in late fall. He says if the plan won approval, construction could start as soon as April.
Supporters say a growing West Fargo needs to deal with overcrowded schools. Opponents worry about higher property taxes and putting a dent in "Packers Pride" by splitting the student body into two high schools.
