MINOT (AP) - City planners in Minot are considering limiting the height of wind towers in back yards at 35 feet.
The Planning Commission formed a committee to craft an ordinance proposal in response to a turbine request from landowners in a rural subdivision that falls within the city's zoning jurisdiction.
City officials are considering several rules for residential wind towers. The committee also is suggesting height limitations for wind towers in commercial and industrial areas.
