VALLEY CITY (AP) - Former members of the North Dakota National Guard's 141st Engineer Combat Battalion are having a party.
The unit, which will deactivate in October after more than 50 years of service, has scheduled a Monday afternoon gathering at the armory in Valley City to share historical pictures.
Guard officials say they want to get details about the photos and the people in them before displaying them this fall.
Members of the 141st are moving into new Guard units in the state.
Guard officials say the unit began March 3, 1884, as Company G of the Dakota Militia in Dakota Territory. It was renamed the 141st on April 15, 1955, based in Valley City with units in more than a dozen other cities.
