Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault II was unseated during the tribe's election Wednesday.

Archambault's fellow councilman Mike Faith was elected the new chairman by a vote of 1,082 to 628, according to unofficial results. 

Wednesday marked the councilman-at-large's second run against Archambault for the chairman's seat. The two also competed on the ballot in 2013.

Other results include the unseating of Vice Chairman Jesse McLaughlin by Ira Taken Alive by an unofficial count of 971 votes to 829 votes.

The incumbent councilman from the Cannonball District, Cody Two Bears lost by a vote of 179 to 82, according to unofficial results. John Pretty Bear will take that seat.

Kenel District Councilman Frank Whitebull will be replaced by Delray Demery, by a vote of 59 to 48, according to unofficial results.
