They're not real followers of Christ

As much as I had hoped, the "moral majority" has not disappeared into the muck and mire that spawned it. Now I will have to tolerate another round of hypocrisy as only those who think that they are the moral center of the universe can dish it out. I wonder if the leaders of this group would do me one favor. Please don't claim to be followers of Jesus Christ.

Christ would never gay bash. He might suggest that gay relationships have drawbacks (such as the inability to have children). He would then follow his own advice and not judge the actions of others since he would not want to be judged. We have all committed acts worse than being in a questionable relationship. Who are we, to judge?

Christ would not be so centered on abortion. Christ would be concerned about the values and morals that would lead to any situation where a child would not be wanted. Abortion is only the tip of a very ugly iceberg. People have more love for the act of sex than they do for the result. Children have become disposable if they no longer fit into our desires. Our society is self-centered and not child-centered. Christ would be appalled.

Finally, war is not an act of a follower of Christ. How can a person claim to follow Christ and not love his enemies? How can a person claim to follow Christ and not turn the other cheek? How can a person claim to follow Christ and not realize that this life is forfeitable while the next is not?

Christ laid down rules of behavior. They are not the Hebrew rules. They are the rules as outlined by the commandments. They have as a center, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It does not say other Christians or humans or heterosexuals or whatever class you place yourself in. It says "others." Christ led by example. If you want to claim to follow him, at least know what the example was and attempt to follow it.
