Richard Paul Felch was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Aberdeen, S.D., the son of Ansel and Christine (Burchard) Felch. In 1976, Richard moved his family to Mandan where he helped start-up the Roto-Rooter franchise. Richard went on to own and operate the A1 Septic company at Mandan.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, Richard died at the age of 70 years with his family at his side.

He is survived by his wife, Ardyce Felch, Alexandria, Minn.; three sons, Paul Felch and wife, Sue, Alexandria, Troy Felch, North Branch, Minn., and Shane Felch and wife, Teresa, Mandan; seven grandchildren, Lee Presto, Lacey McCormick, Corinne Mathews, Benjamin Felch, Kiera Felch, Taya Felch and Kaden Felch; four great-grandchildren, Brook Presto, Ariana Presto, Nellie Babcock and Kendra Mathews; three brothers, Jim Felch and wife, Kathy, Alexandria, Raymond Felch and wife, Kathy, Minneota, Minn., and Anton Felch, Bismarck; and one sister, Mary Seanor and husband, Mel, Loveland, Colo.

Services will be held at 1  p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Living Waters Church, Alexandria. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Felch, Ray Felch, Anton Felch, Rolf Strand, Dale Gelling, Gordon Jobe and Mark Skidmore. Military honors will be accorded.

Obituaries

The Bismarck Tribune runs two types of obituaries, a paid obituary and a free obituary.

A paid obituary is $14.40 per column inch. In addition to the text, it can include a black and white photo, full color photo for an additional $15 or double photo for additional $30. There is a $5 setup fee and for this the family receives 10 copies of the newspaper. Additional publish dates for a paid obituary are 50% off the initial run rate.

A free obituary would include the person’s name, age, hometown, if they are formerly from this area, when and where they died, when and where services and burial are (even if they are past) and a list of the immediate family survivors which includes spouse, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, and where they are from, and the number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; but would not list in-laws or other relatives.

Notices

Free notices include person’s name, age, hometown, if they are formerly from this area, when and where they died and when and where services are. No visitation is included.

Paid notices are charged at $14.40 per inch and can include any kind of information. Please include a billing address and a phone number in case there are questions, we can call with the exact amount after publication.

Deadline is 4pm central time for free or paid obituaries and 4:30pm central time for notices.
