Layla Marie was born to Pete and Christa Knell on Oct. 7, 2011, in Bismarck. Layla was a beautiful little girl with a contagious smile. She was a bundle of energy. From the moment she could walk she never stopped until it was time for bed when she’d grab her blanket and nuk and lay down on the floor to let us know it was “night, night” time. She loved to rock and cuddle until she fell asleep. Layla was everyone’s friend, always giving hugs and kisses away. She loved animals, and was particularly fond of puppies. She loved music and dancing. She idolized her big sister, Keira, who was her best friend. But God needed an angel and she was the most perfect one he could find. We love and miss you so much, Layla, you will never be forgotten.

Layla is survived by her dad and mom, Pete and Christa, and her big sister, Keira (3), Bismarck; her grandparents, Curt and Carmen Wiedmeier, Bismarck, and Duane and Marlys Knell, Washburn; her great-grandmothers, Clara Schock, Bismarck, and Ida Knell, Hazen; her aunts and uncles, Casey Wiedmeier, Bismarck, John and Shannon Knell, Phoenix; numerous cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles; and many special friends at Superkids Jr. Academy.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, August Meidinger, Phillip Wiedmeier, Arnold Knell, and Reinhold Schock; and great-grandmothers, Hilda Meidinger and Erna Wiedmeier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Layla’s name, 106 Osage Ave., Bismarck, N.D., 58501.
