Elliot Rae Metzger, 33, Bismarck, formerly of Hazen, died March 2, 2018, while doing what he loved, fishing. Services will be held at 2 p.m. CST, Thursday, March 8, at Evangel Assembly of God, Bismarck, with The Rev. Ron Enget officiating.
Elliot Rae Metzger was born Sept. 3, 1984, in Bismarck, son of Daryl and Shelly (Lafrenz) Metzger. Elliot attended high school in Hazen where he was involved in football, track, and his favorite sport, baseball. After high school, Elliot attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, and was enrolled in the electrical program. After college, Elliot enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving our country for five years. At the time of his death, Elliot was employed by Novaspect as a reliability technician.
Elliot loved spending time with his family and friends. Andy and Kolby were more than brothers, they were his best friends. Where you saw one, the other two weren't too far behind. With Elliot's smirk and quiet soul, there was never a dull moment. Elliot lived life to the fullest and never wasted a second. In honor of Elliot, get out, try something new, don't let the grass grow under your feet.
Elliot is survived by his parents, Daryl and Shelly Metzger, Washburn; two brothers, Andy Metzger, Bismarck, and Kolby Metzger, Williston; two best friends, Brandon Hancock, Deadwood, S.D., and Brent Schweitzer, Timber Lake, S.D.; and his ice fishing buds, Jeff and Hunter Lafrenz, Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that thought the world of him.
Elliot is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nestor and Helen Metzger; maternal grandparents, Don and Lila Lafrenz; his uncle, Greg Lafrenz; and cousin, Cody Livingood.
