Edith J. Irwin-Messner, 82, flew with the angels to spend Christmas with Jesus on Dec. 20, 2013, in San Tan Valley, Ariz. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel, Bismarck. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Edith was born in Sawyer. She attended school in Minot and married Jack Messner. They later moved to Bismarck, where they raised their three daughters. In 1974, she moved to Arizona.

She is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Chuck) Fischer, San Tan Valley, Ariz., Ranae (Warren) Anderson, Gilbert, Ariz., and Jeffrae (Mac) McGregor, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; her grandson, Justin (Nikkole) Anderson, Castle Rock, Colo.; her granddaughters, Abbey (Matt) Cochran, San Diego, and Emily (Destry) Oxner, Mesa, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren, Genessey, Jackson and Olivia Anderson, Rocky Kash Lusti and Kingsley Cochran; one sister, Fern DeGree, Minot; one brother, Bobby (Chris) Irwin, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.
