Dustin D. Bauer, 35, Mandan, died of natural causes June 1, 2012, at St Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips as celebrant. Burial will be at the Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a parish rosary/vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Dustin was born on March 22, 1977, to Douglas H. and Florence M. (Bullinger) in Bismarck. He attended Mandan High School.

A highlight of Dustin’s childhood was going camping and fishing with his family on weekends at Wolf Creek. Dustin believed that you need to try something once or you’ve never lived. This adventurous spirit led him to hitchhike across the United States before he was 18 years old. Dustin could learn a skill by watching someone skilled in that particular field. He then applied his skills to anything anyone needed help with, this included electrical, carpentry and mechanical jobs. Dustin was a very affectionate man especially towards his family and friends. His nephew, Ben and niece, Brittany were very special to him, he enjoyed spending time with them. He was so proud to be the godfather of Ben.

Dustin will be deeply missed by his parents, Douglas H and Florence M. Bauer, Mandan; his brother, Daren (Sara) Bauer, Andover, Minn.; his niece, Brittany; his nephew, Ben; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Bauer and family, Dustin was one of the nicest guys I knew. I remember when I was new to Mandan in 1989 and we were riding bikes and he was not shy to say Hello. I will be thinking of you all and you will all be in my prayers, I am so sorry for your loss of your son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, friend..may he rest in peace with our Heavenly Father. (.God's blessings and peace to all of you,

Submit Obituaries

The Bismarck Tribune runs two types of obituaries. A paid and a free version. A paid obituary is $12 per column inch. It can include just about anything, including a black and white photo. For an additional $15, you can run the photo in full color. There is also a $5 setup fee and for this the family receives 10 copies of the newspaper. (For example: When measuring the column, if it were eight inches, the total cost would be $101.00 — $12 x 8, plus the $5 fee). If you would like to run the obituary more than once, the fees are as follows: second run, $8 per inch; and third run, $6 per inch. Paid notices are charged at $12 per inch and can include any kind of information. If you want the paid obituary or notice, we can call with the exact amount after publication. E-mail address is obits@bismarcktribune.com. Photos should be attached as jpg files. Please include a billing address and a day-time phone number in case there are questions. A free obituary would include the person’s name, age, hometown, if they are formerly from this area, when and where they died, when and where services and burial are (even if they are past) and a list of the immediate family survivors which includes spouse, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, and where they are from, and the number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; but would not list in-laws or other relatives. Free notices include person’s name, age, hometown, if they are formerly from this area, when and where they died and when and where services are. No visitation is included. Please e-mail us back or call 701-250-8240 or 888-313-2240 with your preference. Deadline each day is 4 p.m. central time for free or paid obituaries and 4:30 p.m. central time for notices.
