Alisa May Horner, 38, died Feb. 3, 2018, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Faith Lutheran Church in Bismarck.
Alisa was born Feb. 25, 1979, to LeeAtta “Lolly” and Curtis Horner. She was raised on a farm and graduated from Wing High School in 1999. She moved to Bismarck where she met James Gilbert and began a career as a dietary aid. She has many fond memories with her co-workers at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center where she worked for 19 years.
She was a loving mother to her daughters, Alexis and Breanna Horner. She had an amazing way of juggling family, work, and other goals. Anyone she met was greeted with her warm friendly smile, even while battling with her illness. She was a fighter who braved her often painful treatments while expressing her love to her family and friends.
Alisa is survived by her daughters, Alexis and Breanna Horner; significant other, James Gilbert; her mother, Lolly (Clint Jones); one sister, Leah Horner; brothers, Shawn Horner, Troy and Cole Pfaff; half- brothers, Michael (Fonda) and Jason (Jody) Pfaff; uncle, Randy Pfaff; aunt, Pam Irvine; and godmother, Claudia Steckel.
She is preceded in death by her step-father, Mark Pfaff; and uncle, Jesse Pfaff. (Bismarck Funeral Home)
