Two Beulah women are in custody in Mandan and an 8-year-girl has been turned over to social services after the women were arrested for allegedly stealing more than $700 worth of goods from Wal-Mart in Mandan.
Det. Sgt. Jay Gruebele of the Mandan Police Department said store employees notified police shortly before midnight Wednesday that items had been taken by the two women.
Gruebele said the women, age 29 and 22, were leaving the store parking lot when officers arrived. A search of the vehicle found the girl and merchandise, mostly electronics, in addition to drugs and drug paraphernalia.
He said the girl was the daughter of one of the women and has been turned over to the custody of Burleigh County Social Services.
Gruebele said the women were in custody in the Morton County Jail facing felony theft charges, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and depravation of a minor charges.
He said an initial court appearance has not been scheduled.
