MANDAN, N.D. - Mandan police are continuing to investigate a stabbing outside a bar late Saturday night.

Sgt. Jay Gruebele said police responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Moscow Bar shortly before midnight.

Gruebele said Jace Renville, 23, of Bismarck, reported being assaulted by two men outside of the bar on Main Street.

Witnesses to the fight fled the scene when police arrived, police said.

Officers found Renville in the alley with two lacerations, one to his abdomen and one to his back. He was taken to Sanford Health, where he remained Monday, Gruebele said.

He said the victim did not report knowing the other two men but provided descriptions. Gruebele said police do not know what started the altercation. He said it’s also not known what type of weapon was involved.

Gruebele said police are in the process of reviewing video surveillance tape from the bar and continuing their investigation.

Gruebele asked anyone with information on the incident to call the Mandan Police Department at 701-667-3250.
