A suspect in the theft of a motorcycle from the parking lot of the Collision Center in Mandan was arrested Thursday, police said.
Robert Wayne Berg, 37, was apprehended at 7:40 a.m. Thursday when he was spotted by Don Ressler, owner of the Collision Center, police said.
The motorcycle, owned by a Collision Center employee, was reported stolen Tuesday. It was recovered that night, undamaged, at the Skyway Park Village Trailer Court in Bismarck.
A warrant was issued for Berg’s arrest Wednesday afternoon, according to the police statement.
Ressler said he spotted Berg, wearing the same clothes and same white glasses from the surveillance photo, walking down Memorial Highway near Kroll’s Diner. He called 911.
Berg was apprehended soon after by two Mandan police officers.
He has been charged with theft of property, a Class C Felony, according to court documents.
Police said Berg had been charged earlier with a Class A misdemeanor for unauthorized use of a vehicle in May when he drove a motorcycle off the Dvorak Motors lot. He faces a jury trial in that incident next month.
