Kirkwood Mall will host Miss America, Cara Mund, for a free community event on Saturday.

Guests and shoppers will line the main corridor for a homecoming parade that leads Miss America through the mall at 9:45 a.m.

“Having Miss America, our hometown pride, at Kirkwood Mall is such an honor,” said Jennifer Wilson, Kirkwood Mall's general manager.

Mund will address the crowd with brief remarks and answer submitted community questions at 10 a.m. Miss America will allot 2.5 hours to autographs and photographs.

“Kirkwood Mall is the perfect venue for a civic icon like Miss America,” said Sarah Kotelnicki, Kirkwood Mall' s marketing director. “To provide access to such a strong role model with local ties provides an excellent opportunity for our community as well as a great platform for Miss America to share her message.”

Additional event entertainment includes giveaways and games from various retailers and music from Brady Paulson, a singer and songwriter from Dickinson, and Brianna Helbling, singer from Mandan.
