Railroad bridge #2

BNSF Railway is in the planning stages for a new crossing over the Missouri River to take over the role of one of Bismarck's oldest and most recognizable landmarks. Important infrastructure serves to support the transport of oil, coal and bioenergy products.

The Bismarck Historical Society’s February Lecture Series meeting will feature two topics at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Meeting Room A of the Bismarck Public Library, 515 N. Fifth St.

Part one will be presented by Annett Willis, owner and manager of the Bismarck Tour Company. She will talk about her company’s beginnings and how it approaches Bismarck as a tour destination.

The second part of the free program will be an update of the status of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad’s proposed project to build a new railroad bridge across the Missouri River and the possible demolition of the existing bridge.
