Many flags will be flying at half-staff until sunset on Friday.

Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all state agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Friday as a mark of respect for the memory of former North Dakota Gov. George “Bud” Sinner, who died last week at age 89.

Funeral services for Sinner will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Nativity Church of Fargo, 1825 11th St. S.

“Bud Sinner deserves our deepest gratitude for his lifetime of service to improving the lives of all North Dakotans through many different leadership roles and with an unwavering love for his state, his community and his family,” Burgum said. “We ask that all North Dakotans honor his remarkable life and legacy.”
