In a unanimous vote, the Mandan School Board chose Sheldon Wolf as the newest member of the board Monday.
Wolf will fill the spot vacated by Beth Allen, who stepped down last month for personal reasons.
Like Allen, Wolf lives outside the city limits. The board needs to have at least one rural member at any time.
Board vice president Donna Fishbeck said both candidates — Wolf and Larry “Chip” Stroschein — were very qualified. She said she looks forward to working with Wolf in the next year.
Wolf will serve until the next election in June 2014. His first school board meeting will be on Monday.
