North Dakota Vision Services/ND School for the Blind is holding a Family Weekend at the Brave Center, 901 Division St. N.W. in Mandan, on Friday and Saturday.
The event provides an opportunity for families of vision-impaired children across North Dakota to meet each other, exchange suggestions on care and independent living and hear speakers.
The featured speaker is Lauren Lieberman, who is a physical education specialist for vision- and hearing-impaired students.
On Friday, Lieberman, a distinguished service professor at the State University of New York at Brockport, will discuss "Water Skills Development" in the pool at the Mandan Brave Center following a light meal from 6 to 7 p.m.
Saturday's event, from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., will focus on "Setting the Stage for a Life Time of Physical Activity," presented by Lieberman.
Registration is $10. Call 701-740-1922 for information.
