In the wake of a suspect's charging for embezzlement, Watford City Park District officials are still uncertain how much money the board has potentially lost.

Park board president Justin Johnsrud said the board has hired a law firm to determine its options to recoup the money Hannah Lloyd allegedly funneled away.

"The total amount stolen is still being determined," he said Monday.

Court documents allege Lloyd created a limited liability company and fake park employee's name to abscond with more than $57,300 to two bank accounts. She was as an employee of an accounting firm that processed payroll for the park district.

She is charged with felony theft of property but that offense could be amended to a higher level and to include felony forgery, per a prosecutor's motion.

Lloyd, 38, is held at the McKenzie County Correctional Facility, pending $100,000 cash bail.

Johnsrud said all normal park district functions continue as usual.
