Mandan police have identified a man they believe is the victim of a homicide as Alex B. Lansdon.

Officers responded to a report of a death in southeast Mandan at 9:53 p.m. Monday and found the body of Lansdon, 28.

Deputy Police Chief Paul Leingang said he is awaiting a preliminary autopsy report before commenting on Lansdon’s cause of death. No arrests have been made, and the Mandan Police Department and Bureau of Criminal Investigation continue to follow up on leads in the case.

Police say Lansdon has lived in Mandan for about two years but is originally from California.

The police department plans to release more information about the case on Thursday.

Leingang said police request that anyone who has had recent contact with Lansdon, who knows anything about the case or who lives in the area and noticed anything suspicious contact the Mandan Police Department at 701-667-3250.
