The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name a teenage girl killed in a one-vehicle crash south of Mandan Sunday morning as Brandi Stewart, 15, of Bismarck.
Troopers say Stewart was a passenger in a 1988 Mercury Sable, driven by Cinnamon Marie Arpan, 16, of Bismarck.
The driver was traveling north toward Mandan on Highway 1806 at 8:15 a.m. Sunday and lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch three miles south of Mandan. The vehicle struck three round hay bales, went through a fence and stopped in a pasture, troopers said.
A second passenger, Patrick Vivier, 15, of Rolette, also was injured in the crash.
Stewart was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
Arpan was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck by ambulance, and Vivier was transported to Sanford Health by ambulance.
None of the occupants wore seat belts, according the Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
