As officers entered his bathroom, a Mandan man allegedly flushed heroin down his toilet.
Metro Area Narcotics Task Force officers were at 43-year-old Lemont Rogers' apartment on the 600 block of Third Avenue Northeast in Mandan to search on a warrant based on surveillance and information from a confidential source.
Court documents say the source told officers he had purchased 2 grams of heroin from Rogers and a woman at the apartment. Upon entering the residence, officers reportedly found Rogers in the bathroom flushing the toilet, with about a gram of heroin and a torn plastic bag with residue on the floor.
Their search reportedly yielded a digital scale with residue, more than $1,600 cash and sandwich baggies similar to the one the source reportedly received with heroin.
Rogers is charged with felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
He has previous similar convictions, court documents say.
He was arrested Monday night and is held at the Burleigh Morton County Detention Center pending $50,000 cash bond.
