The North Dakota Department of Corrections has no further comments regarding an assault on staff at the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan on Jan. 28.
DOCR spokeswoman Michelle Linster declined to say how many juveniles may have been charged in connection, as well as to describe the nature of the assault that injured as many as five employees.
"All juvenile court proceedings are confidential so there can be no comment on charges," she said. "In regards to the nature of the assault, employee medical files are confidential. Staff were assessed for injuries and all returned to work that week."
"Several" juveniles were reportedly involved in the assault.
